ToolKit

Every engineer has his/her own set of tools that make life easier. So on this page I bundle all the useful tools I’ve mentioned/used for creating my projects.

Electronics

Fritzing is a free open-source software designed for Arduino (mainly) and used for prototyping. It futures 3 types of views, breadboard, schematic and PCB. The cool part is that it allows users to take their breadboard prototypes and convert it into PCB schematics that can be ordered online.

Multisim is a circuit design and teaching software. I’ve used it during my education and it allows complete simulation of circuits. I like it because it provides an easy to use interface and creates clean schematics of a circuit. The main problem is the price tag and a not so complete database (adding your own part is painful).

Windows Mathematics

Microsoft Mathematics 4.0 is a free package from Microsoft that allows almost every calculation ever needed. It’s a complete replacement for that old graphic calculator I used at school. The cool part is that it also plots advanced functions. I always use it instead of the default calculator in windows. A must if u need that little extra power!
